The seventh and final chakra is known as the Crown Chakra (or Sahaswara in Sanskrit), and the color associated with this chakra is violet. This chakra is the one at the top of your head and is connected to the endocrine system and very closely associated with your brain function. Because of this, it is considered to be the chakra that connects you to the divine and is the source of your spirituality and enlightenment. Because of the constant unfolding nature of this chakra it is called the thousand-petal lotus.
When your Crown Chakra is truly open you are aware of the fact that your being is just part of a larger whole and that you are connected to the universe the same way a grain of sand is on a beach; separate and yet part of a larger whole. You feel harmony and peace in the fact that you belong in the universe and you understand your purpose with the divine spirit (whatever form that may be).
What causes trauma in the Crown Chakra?
The Sahaswara is a hard chakra to understand because many people discount their ability to reach out and connect with the divine. They will incorrectly believe that the opening of the Crown Chakra is for shamans or priests, but the truth is that we all have the ability to connect to the higher power. When you shut off the idea of reaching out and connecting to the universe your chakra can wither and you are less likely to experience a true awakening.
Closing off your Crown Chakra can result in a disconnection to the spiritual self, cynicism, being close minded, bigotry, and unexplainable anger. If you have an overactive seventh chakra you could find yourself disconnected from your body and your inner self as well as obsessively attached to spiritual matters of others instead of tending to your own needs.
How I am Trying to Focus the Healing Energy for the Crown Chakra
One of the best things you can do to help get your Crown Chakra open smoothly is to practice mindful meditation in a quiet place. Concentrate on yourself and your connection to the universe. While doing this be sure to monitor your breathing and you can even practice specific breathing techniques to help you fully immerse yourself in the practice.
I know how difficult this practice can be, and as such I have mixed together a blend of oils to use as a perfume to help you focus your energy on the Sahaswara. The oils I used were lemon, cypress, frankincense, and myrrh, and they have been specifically formulated to help you in your quest to open the Crown Chakra.
When I am mixing the oils I use my own energy and stones to help charge the blends. I do this by setting the stones out in a pattern and I charge the oils once when I first mix them together and then again once the product is complete. The stones I used to do this for the Crown Chakra were peacock ore, amethyst, lepidolite, blue lace agate, and selenite. For your own meditation practices you can use these or you might also want to use rainbow moonstone, white howlite, celestite, and arfvedsonite.
