Healing the Heart Chakra (Anahata)

The center of the seven chakras is the Heart Chakra (or Anahata) it is the green chakra and it is considered to be the balancing force in the alignment of the chakras. It is the place where the earth chakras meet the spirit chakras, and it is integral to having a good, healthy balance of one’s self (both spiritually and physically). While spiritually it is the connection to both regions, physically it is associated with both the lungs and the cardiovascular system.

The Heart Chakra is associated closely with the element of air and is located in the center of your chest. When this chakra is open you have a full heart of love and are able to connect to others with empathy and compassion. If your heart chakra is clogged this can lead to grief, jealousy, anger, fear, and a lost sense of self.

What Causes Trauma in the Heart Chakra?

Many times the decision to close off the Heart Chakra is an unconscious reaction to trauma and victimization. We tend to hold onto too much of our anger and pain and it settles in our Anahata. Clinging to this pain will allow negative feelings to manifest in a way that can cut you off from your other chakras, both your spiritual and the physical ones. The after effects of a clogged Heart Chakra can be devastating.

If you are repeatedly traumatized by someone then you may need to set proper boundaries in order to protect your heart chakra. There are also other things you can do to help heal yourself up and get your chakras flowing properly again. Many times meditation and yoga can help this process along. Also, there are a few things that I use to help when focusing on the heart chakra as well.

How I am Trying to Help Focus The Healing Energy of the Heart Chakra

One of the things that I am doing to help those looking to focus their chakra energy is to come up with specifically formulated synergies to increase awareness and receptiveness of the chakra during meditation. For the Heart Chakra this will be a combination of rose, tangerine, helichrysum, and myrrh. Besides just being a lovely scent, this is a synergy that is focused on healing any damage to the Fourth Chakra.

Stones I associate with Anahata are Cherry Quartz, Pink Agate, Candy Cane Quartz, Rose Quartz, Rhodonite, and Fuschia Agate. I use these stones to help charge up the Heart Chakra blend so that it can offer you the most support.
