Healing the Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura)

The third chakra is known as the Solar Plexus Chakra (or Manipura in Sanskirt) and is located just behind your navel and up to your breastbone. The color associated with this yellow and it is considered by many to be the seat of digestion and energy that is realized when we allow our true selves to flourish and fully open ourselves up to the world.

This is the third chakra in line up from the root, and rests in the upper area of the abdomen, over your diaphragm. The element associated with this chakra is fire, and because of that it is seen as a passionate element that ties into the core of your personality. If you are someone who has a true understanding of their self worth and are confident in themselves then the Solar Plexus Chakra is healthily aligned.

What Causes Trauma in the Solar Plexus Chakra?

As long as you are clearly working toward your personal goals and desires, and you have an opportunity to move forward toward your true self, then your Manipura will stay firmly open. However, if you are not making these constant strides toward your authentic self, then your Solar Plexus Chakra will start to clog up. This can lead to digestive problems, low self-esteem, anger issues, and indecisiveness.

Long-term trauma that is the result of a buried self or conflict within where you believe that you made the wrong choice but have never looked to rectify the situation can lead to a third chakra that is so closed off you feel as if you can no longer trust your decisions and you feel constantly stuck in the same place in life which leads to chronic self doubt and insecurity.

How I am Trying to Focus the Healing Energy for the Solar Plexus Chakra

When it comes to your identity and your self of belonging the Solar Plexus Chakra is one of the most important. With proper care and meditation you can reopen your chakra and start back down the path to rediscovering your true self. To do this I have been working on an oil based perfume blend that is specifically designed to address the needs of each of the chakras that can be used to help focus this energy either during meditation or during everyday use. For the Manipura blend I used clary sage, bergamont, blood orange, and lavender. This combination of scents has been specifically formulated to help you clear out the blockage in your third chakra.

Stones I use in association with this chakra include: amber, citrine, yellow calcite, yellow jasper, yellow apetite, and septarian. I used these stones and my own energy when I am building the perfumed oils to help make sure that they are fully charged. I do this once while I am blending the oils and then again once the oil has been fully set. For your own meditation other stones that can also be used are sunstone, golden obsidian, erlinite, and peridot.
